Library stock reorganisation – level 3 and 4

February 1, 2012

As part of preparations for the second phase of its redevelopment, due to commence this coming summer, the Library is undertaking a stock reorganisation on its upper two floors.

Between February and May 2012 all journal stock will be relocated to level 4 and all books will be relocated to level 3 (with the exception of Art History, Photography and the Iranian collection which will remain on level 4).

This reorganisation of our collections will deliver significant user benefits such as:

  • Creating a more coherent and comprehensive layout
  • Making it easier for users to locate books
  • Making level 4 a more research intensive, quieter floor

Whilst Library staff will endeavour to carry out the physical move of stock as quietly as possible, there may be points where some disruption is likely and this will be communicated to library users in advance of the work.

If you are unable to find what you need, whilst the book stock is in transit within the building, please speak to any member of Library staff. We appreciate the disruption may be an inconvenience and will endeavour to support your needs in every way we can.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact our Academic Liaison team, or a member of the library helpdesk staff.
